Richbrau Brewing : Taproom Leader
The Taproom Leader (TL) will report to the Director of Operations (DO) and demonstrate strong interpersonal and managerial skills. Ideal candidate will have experience working in high-volume food and beverage service settings and should be knowledgeable of craft beer and the craft beer industry. In addition to the handling of money and opening and closing the taproom, TL will have staff scheduling responsibility and shall ensure all opening, mid-shift, and closing duties are completed by the assigned staff member. TL will be directly responsible for the entire operation and management of Kitchen including meal preparation and serving by TL with oversight from Director of Operations and the Executive Manager (EM). Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Scheduling and Supervising of taproom staff, inventory management, and day-to-day management of the taproom including proper opening, closing and mid-shift procedures
- Complete all opening & closing procedures for kitchen and prepare and serve all kitchen prepared meals
- Work with DO and EM to establish a strong team culture. Assist DO and EM in developing and executing policies and procedures as needed for continuous operational improvement to ensure Richbrau consistently exceeds guest expectations
- In addition to Manager on Duty role, TL will be expected to simultaneously execute beer server and/or chef/meal preparation roles from order through delivery of food to customer.
- Ensure a smooth front-of-house operation at all times, lead and assist staff during all shifts
- Assist Executive Manager and Operations Manager with day-to-day needs and projects
- Complete 30 days of training each for the following: Beer Tender, Key Holder, Taproom Leader
- Complete Cicerone Beer Server Certification (*within first 30 days, cost paid by Richbrau with 1yr commitment)
- Complete the VA ABC Manager’s Alcohol Responsibility Training (MART) (*no cost training course)
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
Requirements:
- Must be over 21 years of age
- Management and Money Management experience
- Knowledge of craft beer and/or serious interest in understanding craft beer styles and the industry
- Must already have or be willing to become a certified ServeSafe Food Manager
- Must not be employed nor accept employment by any other brewery, beer distributor, bar, restaurant, grocery or convenience store while employed by Richbrau Brewing
Skills/Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of taproom operations
- Self-motivated and ability to follow procedures with little guidance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and calmly react to and handle stressful situations and customer complaints
- Ideal candidate will be eager, outgoing, friendly, and good at starting conversations
- Detail-oriented and ability to accurately manage cash handling and counting
- Working in an exciting environment
- Craft beer education and certifications will be paid for by us for a dedicated, proven employee

Pay: $12.00 – $50.00 per hour
