The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild works in partnership with the Brewers Association (BA) as the state guild representative to the BA and the national guilds peer group. The Brewers Association and the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild collaborate on federal issues at the annual Hill Climb, technical programming focused on quality and excellence at the Virginia Craft Beer Seminar Series and Virginia Craft Beer Summit & Gala, national craft beer competitions such as the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival (GABF), and national craft beer events like the annual Craft Brewers Conference. The guild encourages craft breweries located throughout the Commonwealth to become members of the Brewers Association.

The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild is the VA250’s Commemorative Partner for craft beer, joining the Commonwealth’s commemoration of the sesquicentennial and celebrating the essential role of craft beer in Virginia’s history, culture, and economy—from colonial taverns to today’s award-winning breweries. The VCBG x VA250 Program is a revolutionary campaign that engages craft breweries, beer lovers, history buffs, and strategic partners from across the Commonwealth through a series of collaborative programs, including Revolutionary Brews™, Virginia Craft Beer Graphic Design Award™, and Virginia Craft Beer Collectibles™.

The Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) plays a key role in promoting Virginia’s craft beer industry, including the Virginia Craft Beer Gold Road, a trail of award-winning beers, and other craft beer trail marketing programs. The Virginia Tourism Corporation collaborates with the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild and its members to enhance craft beer tourism through marketing services that support tasting room tourism and craft beer events. Together, the organizations promote the Virginia is for Craft Beer Lovers® brand.

The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild collaborates with the Virginia Beer Distribution Company (VBDC) to enhance market access by facilitating limited self-distribution for independent craft breweries. The guild provides legislative, regulatory, and marketing support to the VBDC and nominates two (2) of the five (5) members to the Board of Directors that governs the Virginia Beer Distribution Company. Additionally, the Virginia Beer Distribution Company offers distribution and support services, including the promotion of award-winning beers, to independent craft breweries and retailers.

Since 2013, the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild has partnered with Virginia Craft Beer Magazine to promote award-winning breweries in its print publication, website, and social media platforms. Virginia Craft Beer Magazine is the premier print publication for independent craft breweries in the Commonwealth. Together, the organizations are working to enhance services to the craft beer industry.

The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild works in partnership with Fans of Virginia Craft Breweries and its 21,000 followers to celebrate and promote Virginia craft beer, incentivize fans to discover new breweries and be loyal enthusiasts of local taprooms, and collaborate on programs.
