Virginia Craft Brewers Guild Launches Effort to Create Official Virginia Craft Beer Specialty License Plate
-Craft Beer Enthusiasts Invited to Join Interest List as Guild Works Toward Virginia DMV Requirements-
RICHMOND, VA—The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild (VCBG) is inviting craft beer enthusiasts, brewers, industry partners, and supporters across the Commonwealth to help bring a new specialty license plate to Virginia roads.
The proposed “Virginia Craft Beer” specialty license plate would celebrate the Commonwealth’s thriving craft brewing industry while providing ongoing support for educational programming at the Virginia Craft Beer Summit & Gala.
Before the plate becomes available, the Virginia DMV requires at least 450 prepaid applications. To gauge interest and build support, the Guild launched an interest form for people who want to purchase a plate once the official application process begins. The interest form does not collect payment or official DMV paperwork.
The initiative has also received support from Delegate Holly Seibold, who has played a pivotal role in helping move this effort forward.
In addition to celebrating Virginia’s craft brewing community, $10 from each annual specialty plate fee would support educational programming at the Virginia Craft Beer Summit & Gala, helping the Guild provide professional development, industry education, and resources for Virginia’s craft brewing community.
The Guild encourages anyone interested in purchasing a Virginia Craft Beer specialty license plate to complete the interest form and help build the momentum needed to reach the 450-application threshold.
Help put Virginia craft beer on the road!
